1978 Lamborghini LP400 'Periscopio' Countach

Chassis No. 1120298

LP400 Countach chassis no. 1120298 is number 149 of the very first 150 original Periscopio cars and so features all the refinements and construction improvements learned over four years of production. Delivered new to Monaco Motors, the official Lamborghini dealer for Monte Carlo, on 19 Dec., 1977 the car was specificized in Luci del Bosco (dark brown metallic) with Champagne (light tan leather) interior; the same as you see today

Delivered to Monaco Motors, the first owner was reportedly sold new to Robert Katz of West Orange, New Jersey and later to a Norman King, St. Augustine, Florida. As of March 2001 the mileage was a mere 11,888 kms. Three more successive owners transpired before being acquired by a private collector in Katonah, New York who had Gary Bobileff commence a total restoration. Following restoration in August 2016 LP400 s/n 1120298 was shown at Concorso Italiano at Monterey and was awarded Runner Up Best of Marque.

Acquired by the present owner in January 2020 and subsequently displayed in August 2021 at The Quail in the “Evolution of the Supercar” Category alongside the unveiling of the new Countach. Additionally, it won best in Class at the Niello Seranno Concours in El Dorado Hills.

Any Periscopio is striking to look at but surely one in such extraordinary, and original, colors sets this example apart for others.
