1994 Ferrari 456 GT
Chassis No. ZFFSD44B000100280
Engine No. 37682
Maker of some of the most lavish high-speed grand tourers in history, Ferrari had not introduced a proper four-passenger GT since the long-running and sharply-styled 365 GT4 2+2 in 1972. Finally unveiled at the Paris Salon in October 1992, the 456 GT retained its forebears proven formula of a front-mounted four-cam V12 driving the rear wheels via a manual transaxle wrapped in a curvacious Pininfarina-designed body. The design's long hood and smooth rounded lines drew comparisons to the fabled 365 GTB/4 “Daytona” while remaining thoroughly modern with its underlying tubular steel spaceframe construction. The 456 GT's all-new 5.5-liter V12 produced 436 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, making it ideally suited for cross-continental travel at high speed and in supreme comfort. While an automatic transmission became available in the 456 GTA from 1996, the signature detail of any proper Ferrari GT car remained available in the form of a metal "gate" that guided the shift lever into its six forward gears in the 456 GT.
According to its original warranty booklet, this European-market 456 GT was delivered on 14 October 1994 to official Ferrari dealer Mellin Sportwagen GmbH in Berlin, Germany. Subsequent entries record that the Ferrari returned to Mellin Sportwagen on at least four occasions for service including in 1999 at 11,274 kilometers, 2003 at 23,294 kilometers, 2006 at 30,533 kilometers, and 2010 at 38,928 kilometers. Service invoices on file also document that the car received service in Berlin from Riller & Schnauck in 2017 at 43,446 kilometers, Köhrich Reiser GbR in 2017 at 48,430 kilometers, and Auto Service Mauro Capuozzo in 2019 at 49,130 kilometers and in 2023 at 53,395 kilometers for TÜV inspection and a new fuel pressure regulator. The car's cosmetic and mechanical condition is indicative of the excellent level of service and care rendered by the current owner. Finished in stunning Verde Inglese over Cuoio Naturale and Nero Connolly leather, the exterior presents in fine overall condition, showing only minor blemishes in the usual areas – on the front bumper and “nose” of the car. Inside, the front bucket seats are supple and supportive, complemented by an optional set of Schedoni leather luggage still in their original green dust covers.
Showing just over 53,000 kilometers on the odometer at the time of cataloging, this well-specified and fastidiously maintained 456 GT offers an opportunity to experience the unfiltered pleasure of clacking gated gear shifts when driving a pedigreed Ferrari GT car.
